A head unit can look fine on the bench and still cause problems once it is installed. That is why we test it before it goes into a customer’s car.
Power draw first
We check how much current the unit uses and how it behaves when power is applied. This helps spot anything unusual before it becomes a problem in the vehicle.

- Measure current draw on the bench
- Check for any unwanted power use when running
- Confirm the unit powers up normally
ACC sleep check

We simulate the ACC wire turning on and off, the same way a car starts and shuts down. This is an important step because a unit that does not go to sleep properly can keep drawing power after the ignition is off.
- Check for power leakage with ignition off
- Reduce the risk of battery drain
- Confirm the unit shuts down as expected
Feature checks before fitting

We also test the reversing camera input and make sure Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect properly. That gives us a better idea of whether the unit is ready for installation, or whether something needs attention first.
Bench-testing does not prove every fault, but it is a practical way to catch issues early and avoid surprises once the unit is in the car.
